On the weekend of April 8th through 10th, Dzie-Hauk Tonga Lodge went to Camp Arrowhead to participate in Section G-6’s Section Conclave. The theming of this year’s event was Jurassic Park and the Section had planned a “Dino Dash”. Once our Lodge arrived Friday night we set up camp and had a chilly night sleep.

After waking up and flags, Wah-Sha-She’s Cook crew prepared everyone breakfast to start our day. Shortly afterwards, all the youth were directed towards the service project, filling a ditch back in. After that, youth attended interest groups, such as Fishing, Cars, Cooking, Pioneering, AIA, Etc. After Lunch, the “Dino Dash” begun. Our lodge’s youth went around to each station to earn points for the coveted Traveling Trophy. These station included fire starting, chalk shooting, tomahawk throwing, branding, climbing, car smash, and others. The rest of the afternoon was for the ceremonies competition and free time. With closing flags and dinner done, we moved into our section officer elections where three new officers from different lodges from across the section where elected. A religious service was held right after dinner and right before the closing show.

The closing show recapped the weekend as a whole and thanked our past section officers and advisers. There were a few awards handed out and Dzie-Hauk Tonga was awarded “Best Dessert” and “Winner of the AIA Competition”. Then it was time to announce the overall winner of the section Traveling Trophy. And the results was… DZIE-HAUK TONGA!!! This is the 5th straight year (minus 2020) of winning back the traveling trophy. After that we were treated to a spectacular firework show and then were sent off on our way to bed. We all ate breakfast the next morning and said safe travels to each other.

Thank you Section G-6 for hosting a wonderful weekend full of fun and fellowship. We hope to see you in 2023 at Camp Mitigwa so we can make sure we hold on to the beloved traveling trophy!
